Why it's worth checking out

Boroondara Health & Wellness Centre is a locally owned general family practice in Hawthorn’s Glenferrie Road shopping precinct. Its approach focuses on ongoing wellness, not only treating individual episodes of illness, making it suited to patients looking for continuing support with their health.

The practice says its care is shaped by listening and spending time with patients, then working with them to address health concerns. It also recognises the part that lifestyle, diet and psychological wellbeing can play in overall health, giving the clinic a broader focus than symptom-based care alone.

BHWC is an AGPAL-accredited practice, having again met the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners’ standards for excellence in general practice in 2023. The clinic is currently welcoming new patients, including people who have recently moved to the area and want an ongoing GP relationship.

Appointments can be booked online through HotDoc, although some appointment types and Practice Nurse visits need to be arranged through reception. Video consultations are also supported through an online waiting room, with the doctor initiating the call. With a 4.7 Google rating from 66 reviews, the centre is a practical option for individuals and families seeking general health care in Hawthorn.

Spot Score

The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.7 from 66 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
