Fitzys Gym

Fitzys Gym is a long-established Brunswick training venue with a broad mix of gym equipment, boxing facilities and squash. Located on Victoria Street in West Brunswick, it has been part of the local area since opening in 1968 and has had just two ownership groups. The current owners first worked at the gym from 1985 before taking over in 2005, giving the venue a clear connection to its Brunswick roots.

The gym floor is set up for different training styles, with a free-weight section, weight machines for more controlled resistance work and combination machines for a range of exercises. Cardio equipment and dedicated boxing areas add further options, while the gallery shows equipment including treadmills, bikes, crosstrainers, racks, cable machines, presses, punching bags and ceiling balls. Squash is another key part of the venue, with facilities available alongside the gym.

Members can ask the instructors for help using unfamiliar equipment, and every membership includes a tailored program designed around individual needs. These programs can be revised every six to eight weeks, which may suit people who want structure rather than planning every session themselves. Fitzys also promotes a range of membership options and says the gym is open seven days a week with friendly staff on hand.
