Why it's worth checking out
Operator25 sits on Wills Street in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. A hugely popular cafe, it's become a genuine city-centre fixture — known for its quality food and coffee and its relaxed, characterful setting, the kind of busy, beloved spot that draws a big, loyal crowd of city workers and locals.
The appeal is that combination of quality cafe fare, good coffee and a relaxed, characterful setting in a convenient CBD location, ideal for a morning coffee, a leisurely brunch, a quick lunch or a casual catch-up. In a busy city centre, a cafe that's earned this kind of following really stands out, and Operator25's sheer popularity speaks to a place getting the fundamentals right.
With a 4.4 rating from more than 3,100 reviews, it's clearly a firm favourite. Menus, opening hours and offerings change with the seasons, and a popular CBD cafe gets very busy at peak times and on weekend mornings, so it's worth checking current details before a special trip — though for a great coffee and a casual bite, it's often just a matter of dropping in and joining the crowd in the city.
Spot Score
The Spot Score is our composite of five signals — two about the venue's standing with visitors and three about how complete and current this listing is. It is not a visitor rating and not a verdict on the food or the experience. The 4.4 from 3,143 reviews is Google's visitor rating, shown separately and never altered by us.
