The Foreigner Brewing Company

The Foreigner Brewing Company is a brewery, bar and function space tucked into an industrial strip of warehouses in Brunswick. It has been part of the local scene since 2016, building a loyal following around a small, personal atmosphere rather than a large-scale taproom feel. Brewers are often behind the bar, giving visitors the chance to chat with the people making the beer, while free pool, darts and board games add things to do beyond drinking.

The brewery’s signature is its traditional Czech Pilsner, developed with a Czech master brewer and brewed on a custom-built brewhouse. Its named version, Silent Hunter, takes its title from a forest near Přeštice, the village where the owners’ families originate. The beer uses a traditional decoction mash and imported Saaz hops, with clean bitterness balanced by a more layered malt character. There is also Permanent Resident, a hop-forward pale ale inspired by classic American-style ales, with a dry finish and citrus and passionfruit notes.

Beyond those core beers, Foreigner keeps rotating taps that can include pale ales, sours, dark lagers and other styles, so the selection changes over time. The venue’s modern industrial space can accommodate functions of up to 80 people, making it suited to group gatherings as well as a casual Brunswick visit. Pool, darts and board games give groups an easy way to settle in, while the intimate setting and brewer presence can also work for solo visitors who enjoy talking beer at the bar. The Stein Club offers an engraved glass and discounted 500ml pours, and the brewery has also celebrated its canine regulars through a dog calendar.
